Basic Herbal Preparations - Full Day Workshop

In this full day workshop experience you will learn about the basics in herbal preparations. Discussion will be around distinction between different preparations, how to know which method to use and when to use them. We will learn about herbal infusions, decoctions, teas, syrups, tinctures and salves.  This interactive workshop includes making and sampling a few of the above herbal preparations, learning about some of the benefits of the herbs we are using, and discussing some resources for dosing and formulas, which you can refer to in your own herbal use and preparations.

This workshop is not only about the practical applications of herbal properties, menstruum, blending and ratios but also includes an introduction to plant spirit communication and tapping into the subtle energy medicine of the plants within the remedy.

Herbs for the Childbearing Year - Full Day Workshop

In this full day workshop we will discuss safety and traditional use of botanical applications, herbal nutrition and home remedies for some common pregnancy and postpartum issues. Topics we will discuss for pregnancy may include: nausea and vomiting, heartburn, iron deficiency anemia, constipation, hypertension, insomnia, varicosities and hemorrhoids, partus preparators, and pain relief in labour. Topics that address postpartum botanical use may include: perineal healing, after pains, baby blues, and common breastfeeding concerns such as cracked nipples, blocked ducts and insufficient milk.

Botanical use for fertility challenges will not be addressed in this workshop due to the numerous varying factors that may be involved and the time it would then take to address each one.
